for the scientists to investigate what is happening in the universe?
Ans)To know about the other planets,
life on the other planets, what is there in the
universe apart from earth and moon.

discoveries about the universe and solar system help
us?
Ans) When scientists study the
movements of objects in the universe, they
come to know about the dangers or
calamities approaching the earth. This
helps us to be prepared for the
calamity and reduce the risk from the
approaching danger.

study and collect information about the celestial
objects called?
Ans) Astronauts

Astronaut: Person who is trained to travel in a spacecraft to conduct
scientific
research.

®a defence person is trained how to fight and how to protect
®a fireman is trained how to rescue people and put off the

· Similarly, an astronaut is also
trained to live in space
Q4) Why did the ball and chalk fall
down and not remain suspended in the air?
Ans) Because their gravitational
force that pulls everything towards the surface of
Earth.

Ans) The force that attracts a body having
mass towards the centre of the earth.

to stand on the floor and have our things stable

Ans) Yes.

gravitational pull of the earth weakens?
Ans) The lighter objects will not
stay grounded and will start floating in air.

be no gravity at all?
Ans) Everything
will start floating in air.
As we move away from earth’s surface
towards the space, the gravitational pull becomes weaker and weaker.
·There is no gravity in the space.
·Therefore an astronaut is given training of scuba diving in
order to have a near
experience of
weightlessness.
Q9) What is scuba diving?
Ans) Diving deep under water.

in deep water?
Ans) Water exerts the buoyant force
that causes the feeling of weightlessness.

sick?
Ans) Will go to a doctor, have

both are unavailable?
Ans) Try to
find out some other means or ways that will make one feel better.
--As there are no doctors in the space
and very limited stock of medicines in the spacecraft, the astronauts have to
take good care of their health.
--Still in case
of any emergency if any one of them falls sick or is not well, they are
provided basic medical training.
---All
the astronauts from different countries that stay in the space; work in common spacecraft-The
International Space Station (ISS). Therefore they have to interact with
the people from different countries, for which they are given training of foreign
languages.
SPACE SUIT:
®The
earliest known space suits were tailored for every astronaut.
®Later a tougher space suit was designed that enabled the
astronaut to be
exposed to the external environment
in the space and walk too.
® A follow up space suit had series of tiny rockets attached
to it that enabled
an astronaut to float in the space.
®The modern day space suit that is used in the present status
is a orange
colour suit.
®As with the development of technology and everything around,
the
astronauts live in space with casual
clothes that they wear when on earth.
®It is only when they have to move out of the space craft or
there is an emergency they have to wear the white colors space suit to protect
themselves from
suffocation and any other emergency.

does earth have?

Ans) Troposphere, stratosphere,
mesosphere, thermosphere,
ionosphere, exosphere.

Ans) Exosphere
-Whatever lies beyond
the limit of exosphere is the space.
--After a space craft is set off
from the earth’s surface, as soon as it moves out of the earth’s atmospheric
spheres /layers, the gravitational force gradually gets nullified.
·This state is called as zero gravity or micro gravity or no
gravity

in space different from what we have on earth?
Ans) Yes.

--Not only the
routine of an astronaut is different and difficult, but there is also a lot of
problem they have to face with respect to digesting the food, drinking water, etc.

there is no gravity, even the fluids inside the body tend to
move in the upper
parts of the body and remain there
for quite long.
·This also affects the 5 senses that we have
